The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development has announced a call for applications for a grant programme designed to enhance the growth, innovation, and sustainability of agricultural small and micro enterprises (SMEs) in Zimbabwe.
In a recent statement, the Ministry indicated that the Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Global Farmers Association, aims to support a diverse range of stakeholders, including individuals, agribusinesses, cooperatives, and companies engaged in various agricultural activities such as farming, agro-processing, input supply, exporting, and trading in the domestic market.
The grant programme is a key component of the government’s strategy to stimulate economic development through the transformation of agriculture. The Ministry is particularly interested in projects that can demonstrate a potential positive impact on Zimbabwe’s agricultural landscape.
Applications must be submitted through an online platform, and interested applicants are advised to carefully complete all required fields before submission. The deadline for applications is set for May 5, 2025.
Once applications are processed, successful candidates will be referred to the Global Farmers Association for financial support. The Ministry underscored the importance of investing in agriculture, stating, “We believe that investing in agriculture is investing in the future of our country, Zimbabwe.”
This grant programme represents a significant opportunity for those involved in the agricultural sector to secure funding and contribute to the country’s agricultural advancement.
