Rainbow Tourism Group Unveils Upgraded Rainbow Towers and HICC Elevating Zimbabwe’s Hospitality Profile

The Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has announced the completion of extensive refurbishments at its flagship property, the Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre , along with the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC). These upgrades come as part of RTG’s broader US$26 million capital investment programme aimed at raising Zimbabwe’s profile as a premier destination for high-end tourism and international conferencing.

RTG affirms that the US$5.2 million investment into the refurbishment of RTHCC and HICC reflects the Group’s commitment to offering world-class hospitality experiences. The Group emphasizes that modern, high-standard facilities are essential for attracting global conferences and business tourism, which are key drivers of economic growth.

As part of the transformation, three floors of the hotel were reconfigured to introduce six new executive suites, bringing the total number to ten. Each suite is designed to accommodate high-profile delegations, featuring two en-suite bedrooms, a private lounge, dining room, kitchenette, and guest bathroom. Additionally, 48 guest rooms have been redesigned in a minimalist style, incorporating soft neutral tones and elements of Zimbabwean artistry to appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

Meanwhile, the HICC, which is the largest conference venue in sub-Saharan Africa with a 4,500-seat capacity, has undergone a full modernization. The upgrade includes ergonomic seating with integrated charging ports, state-of-the-art acoustics, and digital conferencing technology to meet the demands of today’s hybrid event formats. RTG underscores that these enhancements are critical for positioning Zimbabwe as a competitive hub for regional and global events.

RTG CEO Tendai Madziwanyika stated that the refurbished facilities reflect a blend of timeless comfort and modern sophistication. He reported a marked increase in occupancy and bookings since the upgrades, indicating the market’s positive reception. The Group is optimistic that the investments will continue to drive performance and enhance Zimbabwe’s standing in the regional hospitality sector.

The Rainbow Tourism Group reiterates its dedication to excellence, sustainability, and innovation in hospitality. It calls on local and international travellers, corporate clients, and event organizers to experience the reimagined Rainbow Towers and HICC, which now stand as symbols of Zimbabwe’s potential and progress.
